These mowers are part of DEWALT’s next generation of cordless mowers. These walk-behind DEWALT electric mowers are designed for homeowners and professionals alike. They provide exceptional power and reliably great performance, even on the most difficult lawns.

We were lucky enough to test these mowers out. So let’s take a deep look at the innovation inside these DEWALT electric mowers.

What’s New with DEWALT Electric Mowers?

DEWALT has highlighted four main improvements they’ve made with this generation of mowers. There are a few differences between the DEWALT 2X20V MAX* XR® Mower and the DEWALT 60V MAX*, but here are the common features.

Reimagined Cutting System

A 21 in. high-efficiency deck with a Direct Drive brushless autosensing motor was custom engineered for DEWALT batteries. Users will experience a better cutting performance than 163cc gas mowers.

TIA DEWALT Electric Mower Review

Dan and I were lucky enough to try out these DEWALT electric mowers to help you decide if it’s worth upgrading or switching OPE brands. Here’s a rundown of what we liked.

Performance

We’ve had a lot of rain in Chicagoland, which means tall, thick grass that is thriving. The DEWALT electric mower cut right through, leaving no grass blades behind. So no annoying patches that required a second pass.

Like I said, we’ve had a lot of rain so we’ve had a lot of opportunities to try the DEWALT electric mowers. Each time we were impressed by the run time. It’s not even that the mowers can complete the job without recharging, it’s that they can still complete the job on a single charge while also powering through dense, tall grass that typically drains batteries faster.

Quality Construction with Quality Materials

This DEWALT electric mower is priced fairly well with competitors while providing top-tier performance. It’s common for manufacturers to drive the price down with cheaper materials to make a product more competitive, but not DEWALT.

These DEWALT mowers live up to the same “built tough” reputation as any other DEWALT product.

Brands don’t always put a lot of thought into the quality or operation of their mulchers and baggers because they are standard pieces of equipment at this point. However, the attachments were easy to use, and the mower and the attachments worked well together. Each mower powered through the lawns and left nothing behind.

DEWALT Electric Mowers Value

These DEWALT electric mowers price right on par with comparable electric push and self-propelled mowers, such as EGO and TORO. These competitors also offer great performance. So what sets DEWALT above the rest?

One of the biggest value advantages of DEWALT outdoor power equipment (OPE) is that the batteries are compatible with DEWALT’s full line-up of 20V and 60V MAX* power tools, and vice versa. This is a great thing to consider if you are looking for a battery platform, but also great if you already have DEWALT 20V or 60V MAX* batteries. You’re already saving money because you can choose a cheaper kit option, and it helps you decide which mower to choose based on what batteries you already own.

Final Thoughts

DEWALT is constantly redesigning and upgrading its products to keep ahead of the competition and give consumers more. These new DEWALT electric mowers are a great example of that.

These mowers have the power, performance, and runtime to mow the average lawn on a single charge. Then the reimagined cutting system allows you to take on more demanding mows, whether that’s tough grass or an extra long “just back from vacation” lawn.

Instead of a weekend sprint, The Home Depot is giving customers a whole month of Black Friday offerings that is going on now and runs through Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Overall, I’d say the best deals are from RYOBI, Milwaukee, and DeWALT. Customers can save hundreds of dollars and restock their toolkits with current promotions from these power tool brands.

Some non-tool related promotions going on include $100-$1,000+ markdowns on select appliances, reduced (but limited) Christmas/winter decor items.

Also, even though Black Friday sales at The Home Depot run through the end of the month they are also marketed as “while supplies lasts” with no indication of total items available or if they’ll be restocked during the promotional period.

THD Insider Fact: As a former THD employee, I know that at least at my store there was no set delivery schedule for restocking items. With that in mind, I say if you see a deal you want should get up and get it.

Lowe’s Black Friday Sale 

Before I go into Lowe’s Black Friday sales, I want to mention Lowe’s currently has a Pre-Black Holiday promotion going on now through November 22 that is worth checking out. Lowe’s Black Friday promotions start at 6 AM Friday, November 24 and go through the end of the month or while supplies last.

Overall the tool deals consist of $50-$100 markdowns across brands, such as CRAFTSMAN, Kobalt, and DeWALT. However, Lowe’s is running other sales concurrently, like the DeWALT BOGO promotion that runs through January 30, 2024. With this, customers get a FREE select DeWALT 12V tool when they purchase a DeWALT 12V Combo Kit for $199. Add in the free tool and this price is a great bundle.

Honestly, Lowe’s best deals are in the appliance department. A lot of these items have discounts of at least 30% off, resulting in hundreds of dollars of savings.

Harbor Freight Black Friday Sales & Coupons

If you know Harbor Freight then you know the brand loves its coupons. So, of course Harbor Freight also has a wide offering of Early Black Friday promotions and coupons. These coupons are good between now and Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

Harbor Freight doesn’t currently have its Black Friday promotions up, but we’ll make sure to update you (and this article) once the deals drop.

Menard’s Black Friday Sale 

We LOVE Menard’s here in the Midwest. However, they do Black Friday a little differently. Menard’s is known for its year-round/every other week 11% off rebate promotions. For November Menard’s instead runs this promotion from early November through Thanksgiving Day. After that 11% is OVER! At least until December.

It’s unclear from their current available flyers, but the 11% promotion generally runs all December long, or at least until Christmas Day. That promotion should be for all Menard’s items. However, current verbiage only specifies Christmas/holiday decor and toy items.

That being said, head out to Menard’s today or shop online and buy before the end-of-day on Thanksgiving to get 11% off all purchases. Which, one reason we love Menard’s is the fact that they have toys, food, pet equipment, and so much more.

Do your shopping now, mail in your 11% off rebate form, and get that 11% back as a gift to yourself.

You can find markdowns and BOGO promotions across almost all DeWALT products this Black Friday season. I think you’ll find the biggest variety of DeWALT sale items at The Home Depot, but Amazon and Lowe’s also have a good variety as well.

Again, these sales consist of markdowns across most products, such as tools, workwear, tool boxes, and organizers.

Makita Black Friday Sales

Makita has a long list of Black Friday and winter sale items. Most are BOGO promotions that include a free battery with the purchase of select tools or OPE, and a couple of promotions include a free tool. Makita also has a lot of its 18V and 36V items marked down anywhere from $20-$299 off.

My favorite is the Makita Rapid Rebate promotion that saves your $180 at checkout when you buy the Makita LXT 18V 8-piece Combo Kit. It’s only $399 after rebate and includes a tool bag, battery and charger in addition to the eight included tools.

Milwaukee Black Friday Sale

Milwaukee has marked down a variety of items, not as many as DeWALT, but fair markdowns across a variety of items. These include: batteries & chargers, M18 tools and OPE, PACKOUT & tool organizers, and so on. Most markdowns land anywhere from $20-$90. However, Milwaukee has slashed some higher ticket items for great Black Friday savings that can save customers hundreds of bucks.

The savings start with Milwaukee Combo Kits. The small kits are anywhere from $50-$200 off. But larger kits, like the Milwaukee M18 9-piece Combo Kit is $600 off right now. This is great for anyone ready to upgrade their current tools to the Milwaukee M18 platform.

The other great promotion that Milwaukee often does this time of year is the Milwaukee M18 BOGO promotion. This year it’s buy a Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18V Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit and get a FREE M18 tool. A great promotion that gets customers a $129-$199 tool for FREE. This promotion is limited to three qualifying purchases per customer.
